GROUP GOVERNANCE

Group governance pertains to how the household manages itself and get's projects done.  We present two popular governance styles although there are other ones out there too - "Sociocracy" and "Consensus Decision Making".

Sociocracy

Sociocracy, also called dynamic governance, is a system of governance that seeks to create psychologically safe environments and productive organizations. It is distinguished by the use of consent, rather than majority voting, in discussion and decision-making by people who have a shared objective or work process.

Consensus Decision Making

Consensus decision-making or consensus politics (often abbreviated to consensus) is a group decision-making process in which participants develop and decide on proposals with the aim, or requirement, of acceptance by all. The focus on establishing an agreement of the supermajority and avoiding unproductive opinion differentiates consensus from unanimity, which requires all participants to support a decision.
