Join Us for Our Community Gatherings

Each Spring and Fall, we welcome you to our Community Gathering, an event designed to bring together both members of intentional communities like cohousing and cooperative group homes (shared homes), as well as those of you who are curious about the concept and interested to learn more.

For Intentional Community Members:
Our gatherings offer a rich environment for networking with fellow communitarians. It's a chance to discuss common challenges, celebrate your unique experiences, and perhaps even find synergies between your communities. This is an excellent platform to share valuable insights gained from your community living experiences.

For Those Curious About Communities:
If you're intrigued by the idea of intentional living but haven't taken the plunge, these gatherings are your doorway to understanding the lifestyle better. You'll get to interact with people who are actively participating in various forms of intentional communities and gain firsthand insights that could help you on your journey toward a more communal way of life.

Additional Activities:
Depending on our volunteer team's availability, we also aim to enrich these gatherings with guest speakers and workshops.

Everyone is welcome, so come join us and expand your horizons in the realm of intentional living.  Please reach out to us if you have any questions about the event.

“Community, Now More Than Ever”

Join us for a facilitated dialogue and a chance to share and learn more about personal and community resilience. Explore what forms of preparation for the future are available to us.

  • What are the pressures you are experiencing or anticipating?
  • What are the unique circumstances that describe Washington and Oregon's place in our collective future?
  • What unique strengths are intentional communities bringing to these challenging times, and what specific challenges do we face among ourselves in the process?

Do you need a ride or can offer one?  Carpooling is encouraged!  Public transportation is not an option for this event.  We have set up a Carpool Connector program to help match those who need a ride with those who can offer one.

In order to use this program please send an email to "" and make sure to use the subject line "Seeking Carpool Connector Info".  You will receive an automated reply with instructions on how to connect with each other.

NICA Gatherings always feature a group potluck lunch so we invite everyone to bring a favorite dish to share. If you have food allergies or limitations, we encourage you to bring your own lunch. We will provide coffee and tea and something for a morning snack but if you are inspired we would welcome any additions.
